Hair soy sauce production process

Imitation soy sauce, counterfeit eggs, plywood, paper mache, fireproof polyurethane foam, overhead projector, petri dish, air pump.

The sculpture was conceived as a way to display two substances: an imitation soy sauce made from human hair and counterfeit eggs containing toxic chemicals thought to cause dementia. These two products became legendary as internet memes and are thought to be at least partial hoaxes, I followed instructions found online to make both materials. The format of a lavalamp/psychedelic light show is integrated with a volcano cutaway made of wood, papier mache and polyurethane foam. This volcano diorama acts as a stand on which the overhead projector, petri dish and air pump rest.
